Ultrafast Time-Resolved Magneto-optical Effect

To pursue the scientific question behind what is the dynamics after bringing magnetic materials into an extremely non-equilibrium state, we are building an ultrafast time-resolved magneto-optical effect measurement system and developing novel table-top femtosecond hard X-ray sources. We aim to in situ integrate ultrafast probes that are sensitive to electron, spin, and lattice degrees of freedom. We expect to reveal the interplay between electron, spin, and lattice orders from a time-domain perspective.

Before joining ShanghaiTech, Dr. Li performed Ultrafast X-ray Diffraction and optical spectroscopy studies at Texas A&M University (Dr. Peter M. Rentzepis' Group, 2015~2020); and Ultrafast Electron Diffraction studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Dr. Jie Zhang's Group, 2008~2014).
